This is my first year as Principal at Holy Family Parish School. Until now, all of my teaching has been in public high schools. Most recently, I had been teaching math, physics, science, and aviation at Chief Sealth High School. Holy Family is not my first experience with Catholic Schools. I went to Catholic Schools from the first grade through high school in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Then I went to the United States Air Force Academy where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in physics. I spent the next twenty years in the Air Force primarily as a pilot flying B-52 bombers and F-15 fighters.

Since retiring from the Air Force, I have done many things to include starting my own small airline. Since I left the Air Force, I have always been drawn to education. After retiring from the Air Force, I earned a Master’s in Education and teaching credentials from Marymount University in Virginia. My first teaching position was an inner city school in Washington, D.C. It was a very eye opening experience dealing with students where weapons and drugs were commonplace. Recently, I completed the Administrative Program at City University of Seattle earning administrative credentials.

I believe students should be able to speak and think openly in class, yet have enough structure within the classroom environment where all students can learn. I believe instruction should be relevant and challenging for all students. I believe we should empower our children with Catholic beliefs that they can rely on as a support system for the remainder of their lives. I believe we should ensure that all our children are ready to be successful in the high school of their choosing. I believe we should do the best job possible to ensure all our children are ready for high school as well as for life.
